British New Year's Eve

Do you think that the English weather is unpredictable? The wind always blows and it always rains? Yes and no. Yes, there is really unpredictable weather. No, sometimes you are lucky and find neither rain nor wind. When I came to London to celebrate the New Year's Eve 2016 we landed at the Stansted Airport. Not long after noon we headed out to London downtown which takes an hour. While raining all the time in the Czech republic, we were sipping an excellent coffee at the Picadilly Circus with the sun shining behind our backs. Gotta say England surprised me once again. Not only with the weather.

There are plenty of articles about how people are in a bad mood while raining. No outing, no social life, period. Our homes are too cosy and warm to leave it. So this includes definitely me. Brits on the other hand do not lack their shine and elegance even in this moment. How amazing. Smiling all around they walk down the streets with their feet soaked in wet socks warming up in their boots. I think the last thing which is missing here is when the soaked socks start sliding off. Oh my goodness... Sounds like hell to me.

To chear your sad and emphasizing faces up that is what Primark is for. Yes, pound is quite expensive currency but you can never buy vans-looking shoes for £3 elsewhere. OMG, that blesses my soul deep inside! My savings were slowly but surely disappearing. You guys want to attrack a woman? Hang a huge SALE poster on your window and go open the door because someone is already ringing the bell.

Fish and chips - traditional british meal, Seawise Camden, London

My favourite quarter of London is Camden Town, no doubt. It is a multicultural neighborhood and if you are lucky you can spot several celebrities there on the streets. Once I visited my friend in a local restaurant called Seawise Camden I ordered their traditional meal - Fish and Chips. Recommended! It is worth paying more in that restaurant than trying to save a penny and buying it at stalls. Until they change its chef.

In Camden Market you can find either independent artists or every item from snacks to indian joss sticks. Various designs, smells and colours will brighten your soul vigorously. Especially during Christmas you feel like in cloud nine. Camden has its magic, I tell you. Best for searching the right souvenir for your amour or mom.

Amy's fans, are you here? Camden town is also a place for you because of this gorgeous statue of our jazz princess situated in the rear part of Camden Market.

Thanks to my friends all over the world this trip turned out very well because we celebrated the New Year's Eve wildly. Usually you have to make a resevation asap to make sure you find seats in a pub but our night took place in Finchley on the edge of London. Less people but good transportation to see the midnight fireworks in central London. Thanks to all the NYE discounts and privileges we drank and ate all night for free!

As I recall that night, it was rough.

In conclusion, even on your adventure do not forget to relax and keep your feet warm. Nobody else but you can make it happen. Amen!
